This photograph speaks to my heart. I love the way the sun bounces off the trees and fresh snow... Its like I could actually walk into the photograph and feel the cold dampness while the sun filters through the trees, blinding my sight. The way the photo was strategically taken on a curved path lets the viewer use their imagination about what could be ahead. Beautiful, Stunning, Captivating. There's nothing like the outdoors and snow covered pines to wake the senses. I think you've captured the very essence of Jack Frost, Mr.Winter and Mother Earth together in one piece. Bravo. Bravo.
The photographer's eye for light is superb. He has captured not only a visual image, but an elusive moment, a transient emotion. This forest breathes with cold and peace and rock solid fragility... drawing the viewer inward to a level of visceral sensation. Compositionally satisfying and transcendentally moving, he captures the art of nature, wresting the sublime from the ordinary, and offering it to the eye of the beholder with grace and humility. Above all, the work exhibits a deep love for his subject matter, a reverence in approaching the natural world, and a desire to share that love, which cannot but stir a corresponding honor in the soul of the person who pauses to gaze upon it, with him.
Beautiful....other then it reminds me of this endless, brutal winter we've been having in the Philly area. Another storm is just beginning as a type. Oh well. Your photo has reminded me how beautiful winter is and how easily that can be forgotten when your 30 years old and it impedes on daily life haha
