The piece itself has a wide variety of color, the colors that stood out the most (to me at least) would have to the yellowish orange moss on the rocks, and the fog looking water. The greens I didn't see till I was focusing on looking around the picture but this didn't detract from what (I think) were the main colors you were trying focusing on from this position.
When it comes to originality I've seen my fair share of rivers pictures with the water displayed as if it was fogy. BUT, there is almost never a reproduction nature picture due to the photographers’ locations varying. Although I haven't seen many nature pictures were the moss did get to this state of color so that was definitely different from most river photos.
Then the technique you used with this photo though it wasn't much but the fogging of the water even though it is a common technique for shooting pictures like this still looks absolutely stunning. So even if it seems like I'm making this seem really common, it still looks amazing for what it is. Reason why I say this is that each nature photos (I think) should have some sort of emotional impact at least. With this specific picture I’m pull into an emotional state Lull because of the bright colors contrasting with the foggy water which tricks my mind of remaining still while time is flowing by me without a care in the world.
So to sum all this up it’s a great photo which used a common but effective technique which displays a range of bright and mellow colors which does bring out an emotional reaction, once again another great piece by you.
:D

I love the photo and I agree with the other guy, lovely. It has some very emotional parts that connect to the person when they look at it.

At the first second I saw the blurry water. It was like an unknown oddball that didn't truly come out to the person in first view. It is very interesting how for the first second, you don't see the blurry stream. I don't know how achieved that but good work! But halfs of me are splitting on saying "nice work" or "bad" because of your stream! the water blur somewhat bugs me.

It is the long exposure. Keeping the camera record the image for a longer time, let's 1 second and more.

How do you get the water to look like that? I've always wondered that.

It is the long exposure. You keep the camera recording for a long time attached to a tripod. Here exposures longer than 1 sec would do that.

Do you use photoshop to edit the water like that? It is absolutely beautiful! Do you have any recommendations as to what I should use for my pictures? (similar to photoshop... but preferably low cost or free)
