The colors in this photo are amazing! The reds, oranges, and yellows at varying intensities create wonderful layering. The color of the tree trunks and bench cool the photo off a bit. I feel a calming when I look at this shot. I think of leaves in the breeze and birds all around me. This photo has me thinking of fall, crisp air, and camping. This is a photo that many people could look to and appreciate as they start reminiscing about childhood outdoor trips This photo triggered my senses and emotions, I have a very strong passion for the outdoors and nature. I love this photo!
Vibrant and lively, but not overly intense in color. "Myllylampi" captures the beauty of the setting well and still gives a realistic impression to the viewer by keeping the color range, vibrance, and variations in moderation. Perfectly balanced; well offset by trees and the table.
As far as the emotional factor goes, "Myllylampi" has a very comforting feeling and easily invokes viewers' memories and experiences.
--Also has a very story-like feel; it brings the viewer into the photograph rather than being something just to be looked at.
Most likely one of the best photographs I have seen in a while.
I will not venture a proper critique, since I've absolutely no competence when it comes to photography. However, it seems to me that you intended the bench to be the focal point of the picture, but my eyes are somewhat torn between it and the foreground foliage. The contrast of values is very strong there, just around the V shape of the second tree. The fact that it is where the most chromatic color is doesn't help either, and that there is a very harsh contrast between the cast shadow and the ground, almost forming a barrier into the picture.
I don't know if you could alter these things and how, I'm speaking as a painter, but I feel that this wonderful scene could be even more inviting. I hope you don't mind this, I truly admire your work.
I wanna live in Scandinavia too.. It's soooo beautiful over there, all that nature Here in Holland it's so boring -.- Everything is flat, no mountains nothing.. And almost everywhere are buildings Or you have to love the countryside.. -.-'
But Norway, Sweden and Finland.. I love it! (I've been to Norway once btw )
