Rainbow by m-eralp Rainbow by m-eralp
I was already there taking photos when this rainbow started to form. Rainbow lasted maybe 2 minutes only since the raincloud was moving very fast. I quickly made a quick composition and settings but it started to pour rain at the same time. Lens hood didn't help to cover the lense, so i had to wipe the lense many times until i could get an acceptable shot. Still i had to remove many droplets on photoshop. I wish there was time to take more photos...

This is an unusual photo but in a good way. It looks interesting when the half of the rainbow is hidden and it gives more mysterious look. I also like how the light is reflected to the treetops and not all over the pic. The setting of the rocks is eye catching. :)

How splendid and extraordinary! I really like the sun on the forest in the background and the giant rocks in the foreground. I'm glad you took the time to capture this. I love all of your photos so much, and because of them, I am determined to go to Finland someday!

Very nice shot, powerful composition, but for this I feel the orange is a bit overpowering, i think with a 10% decrease in orange saturation this will go from awesome to sick. :D

Thanks Tommy:) Actually it was last minute edit increasing oranges somewhat, to add some mood. Especially water was a bit too brown, which felt like mud. But i trust your eyes:)

My pleasure buddy. :)
It is just my taste on it, I find it to be quite easy to oversaturate the colors when converting prophoto to srgb, i generally try to leave a color gap in lightroom. :)

Hello, can I join the conversation :) ~tommy, are you always using sRGB during converting NEF to psd, tiff or jpeg?
I am a bit lost between sRGB, ProPhoto RGB and Adobe RGB.

I convert NEF to uncompressed tiff files when I export them into photoshop for any final retouching, it comes in as Prophoto as it is by far the better color space, but it has some small drawbacks which is easy to work with if you know how, then I convert them to srgb with a correctly color profiled monitor so that what you see is the same as the file I see (provided your monitor is also correctly calibrated). :)

It is a big difference on a proper monitor when you are able to see more colors and the display can show more colors.
You have to build up a sense of colors over time, it gets easier to edit the photos properly as you get more practice and get used to it. :)

I could say that i was lost with these color spaces too. Many times i had less saturated, contrasted images here. Thanks for the info Tommy:)

So beautiful! A rainbow is so amazing to see, but to get a picture of the whole thing, on a beautiful landscape makes it so much more than amazing.
