this is the first time ive done a critique so bare with me, but i just wana say i love how you have court the angle of the sun in this frame reflecting off the trees, it makes the picture come alive and sparkle, plus your dedication to get up that early in the morning amazes me cos id prabably freeze to death XD, also the way you use the rule of thirds in most of your pictures including this is really awesome especially with the boat it really catches the eyes and makes the frame interesting without it it would look sorta average, gotta say ya made me a fan haha i look forward to more of your work. cheers :D

First off, it's a great shot. Well composed, with a brilliantly obeyed rule of thirds, which works well with the scene. The sky acts as some negative space for the viewer to "breath" in and helps to balance the shot. The foreground chosen adds a bit of texture and detail to the image. The boat subtly, and successfully leads the viewer into the image. Good job! :) The trees on the right, dark, keep the viewer inside of the frame, and the boat leads the eye into the image. Same for the trees on the left - it keeps the viewer inside of the frame. A very good shot! Impact wise it was inspiring, and peaceful.
The choice of the 8mm fisheye is probably a good one, allowing a large amount of the landscape to be crammed onto a frame, and getting a good perspective into the image. The foreground especially benefits from the wide-angle lens.
Technique wise, the composition is brilliant, probably well focused, white-balance is good BUT image clarity seems to suffer. I'm not sure what camera you shot this one (6D or 600D) but image clarity suffers in this shot. It may be from post-processing, but this knocks back the effect of the image a little. I would imagine that it was from post-processing, or just shooting smaller file sizes, but aside from that, this is a great shot!

Great shot! Hope that helped! :)
